Introduction to the team
The Devonshires corporate department advises clients across a range of sectors including manufacturing, fintech, private equity houses, retail, hospitality, recruitment, logistics, healthcare and professional practices (lawyers, accountants, IFAs, insurance brokers). Our pragmatic Solicitors all have a broad range of experience within the corporate sector which means they are able to see how different pieces fit together rather than being pigeon holed into a narrow field of expertise.

M&A Transactions
M&A is central to our practice. Our team work across a wide range of sectors advising on:

Our vast experience means we can focus on the key stress points that arise in transactions and guide our clients through the process efficiently. Our team has worked on transactions with values from £50,000 to £50 million.
Restructuring
We advise clients who are looking to maximise business efficiency through reorganisation of their group structure.
We have extensive experience on implementing complex restructuring including:
- Transactions involving reorganisations and demergers
- Tax driven transactions involving special purpose vehicles holding real estate
- Share for share exchanges
Investment Rounds
External investment is often key for growth and our team advise both:
- The company receiving investment, whether from private investors, private equity, venture capital or as a trade investment
- Investors
Our team has recently worked on rounds:
- Raising €5m for Feast-It, a start up platform that connects events organisers with suppliers. The round was led by Fuel Ventures and supported by Best Nights VC.
- Raising $7m for Cloud Guru, a cloud architect certification training business
- Working for high net worth individuals investing into a range of businesses
General corporate
Our team also covers day to day corporate work that is not specific to a particular event, such as refreshing or advising on Articles of Associations, Shareholders’ Agreements, Share buybacks, joint ventures, amendment of share classes/share structure and corporate governance.
We also work with newly established businesses and provide company law advice essential to those entrepreneurs to enable them to set the business on the right track.
We also have specialist groups in the areas of finance and banking, commercial, real estate, employment, competition and IP, offering comprehensive transactional and advisory support.
