Market‑Leading Property Litigation & Housing Management Specialists
Expert. Commercial. Proven.
We are a Legal 500 and Chambers UK recognised, full‑service law firm with a national reputation for delivering clear, commercial advice in complex and high‑risk real estate disputes. As a medium‑sized firm with over 400 partners and staff, we combine scale, sector depth and agility to support landlords, investors and asset managers operating across the private rented sector.
While our roots are in housing, our practice advises private and institutional landlords, developers, investors, lenders, insurers and public bodies, acting on matters ranging from day‑to‑day portfolio management to landmark litigation and regulatory challenges. We regularly represent clients from growth‑stage operators to some of the largest real estate owners and financial institutions in the UK.
Housing Management & Property Litigation
Our Housing Management and Property Litigation team is one of the largest specialist teams in the sector, with more than 90 lawyers advising on all aspects of tenancy and lease disputes, regulatory enforcement and strategic litigation. We act for Registered Providers, private landlord companies and investor‑led portfolios, giving us unrivalled insight into how legislation, the courts and regulators are reshaping risk in the PRS.
Described by Legal 500 as a “one‑stop shop that is holistic and comprehensive” and “market‑leading”, there are few legal issues affecting landlords and investors that we have not already seen or dealt with.
At the Forefront of Legislative Change
We are uniquely placed to advise on the Renters’ Rights Act, having already operated in a fully re‑formed regime. Our Wales team acted for all landlords in the landmark test case Beacon Cymru Group Ltd and Ors v Mitchell and Ors (2025) EWHC 2477 (Ch), examining the practical and legal consequences of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 - legislation widely regarded as the Welsh legislative equivalent of the Renters’ Rights Act in England. As a result, we have first‑hand experience of the litigation, compliance and operational challenges that arise when longstanding landlord and tenant principles are fundamentally restructured - insight that is directly transferable to PRS landlords and investors preparing for reform in England.
Trusted Advisors for PRS Landlords and Investors
Beyond litigation, we have played an active role in shaping housing and property legislation, advising landlords, local authorities and sector bodies on emerging Bills, regulatory reform and policy implementation. We maintain strong relationships with regulatory stakeholders ensuring our advice reflects both policy intent and enforcement reality.
A Proven Partner for the PRS
For landlords and investors facing heightened scrutiny, expanding tenant rights and increasing litigation risk, we provide the experience, scale and strategic insight needed to protect assets, income streams and long‑term portfolio value.
