Introduction to Devonshires
Devonshires has specialised in housing, regeneration and development since the late 1970s.
We have an extensive track record of advising private developers (such as Pocket, Inland Homes PLC and Smith Homes), Registered Providers, both not for profit (such as L&Q, Notting Hill Genesis and Octavia) and for profit (such as Sage, L&G and M&G), local authorities (such as Woking Borough Council, Westminster City Council and the London Borough of Lambeth), local authority housing companies (such as Populo, SixtyBricks and BexleyCo) and private landlords (such as Grainger, Leaf Homes and Citra Living (part of the Lloyds Banking Group)
Over 70% of our work (approximately £32m of our turnover) relates to housing, development and regeneration – with well over 200 active developer and landlord clients. We have over 70 lawyers working on development projects day in, day out. They have experience on all aspects of the development process – be that planning, title investigation, Rights to Light, utilities, environmental issues, restrictive covenants, easements, building contracts, professional appointments and development agreements.
In addition to covering all the bases when it comes to acquisition and development, we have one of the largest housing management teams in the UK. Our Construction, Engineering & Maintenance team is at the forefront of advising landlords and developers on historic (an current) cladding and building safety issues. Last year our securitisation team charged tens of thousands of properties with a combined value of over £1billion.
