Faces behind the Devonshires team:
What we’ve been up to...
Victoria Smith
"I have had a busy few months assisting RPs and RSLs on all things housing management, to include ASB matters, housing conditions claims and tenancy fraud. I have had the pleasure of delivering training at a client’s office on housing conditions claims and damp and mould complaints to approximately 80 members of staff over two days."
Neil Lawlor
"I have been busy advising in respect of Right to Manage claims and am currently involved in an interesting commercial lease renewal."
Mark Foxcroft
"I have recently spent a lot of time on trains - visiting our Leeds and Birmingham offices as well providing face-to-face training to clients in Exeter. Great fun to be out and about – although perhaps a bit much for one week! More careful diary planning required in future…"
Daisy Tremlett
"I have been busy recently with a number of both anti-social behaviour and access injunctions and have just returned from holiday in New York."
Hana Rashid
"I have been working on a variety of files and in particular, rent possession claims. I have issued numerous claims over the past few weeks and have had many hearings, obtaining excellent results for our clients."
Ben Tarbard
"I am currently very busy with a variety of disrepair and anti-social behaviour cases. I am also currently managing a matter involving a disputed commercial lease renewal under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and drafting our witness statements and organising our expert evidence in preparation for trial."
Emilie Pownall
"I have had a busy start to my time at Devonshires, dealing with defended disrepair claims, complex and urgent injunction applications and shared ownership possession files. I recently negotiated a 49% reduction on our opponent’s bill of costs following settlement of a claim. I have also been assisting with recruitment for our ever-expanding Birmingham office."
Lina Amir
"I am working on a variety of matters at the moment, including lots of ASB and possession matters which involve the public sector equality duty. We are also excited to be welcoming many new team members!"
Hetal Ruparelia
"I have been busy negotiating Data Sharing Agreements and mediating neighbour disputes. I am getting ready to go on holiday to Madeira next week!"
Rebecca Brady
"I have been busy working on a number of interesting possession and injunction cases. It was a pleasure to have attended the recent Cornerstone Housing Day where it was wonderful to catch up with barristers and clients."
Anna Bennett
"I have had a couple of appeals coming up to both the High Court and Upper Tribunal on behalf of clients which may be of interest to clients once the outcome is decided. I have also just been handed the key to an allotment after an 11 year wait which is both exciting and daunting – any suggestions from allotment holders welcome!"
Madeline King
"I have been busy this summer visiting the London Courts from the Leeds office in relation to possession cases. I have been working on injunctions and disrepair matters too."
Sara Mondon
"It had been a busy summer with lots of hearings and trials! An interesting point to note related to an EPA claim, check carefully the proof of posting sent by claimant’s solicitors as I recently had one that appears to have been photoshopped – badly…"
