Faces behind the Devonshires team:
What we’ve been up to...
Charlotte Knight
"I have been busy working on a number of interesting possession and injunction cases. I recently attended the SHLA Annual Conference, which was an excellent day that I really enjoyed!"
Rebecca Brady
"I finished off the financial year in Brighton County Court attending a two-day trial of a possession claim involving allegations of anti-social behaviour and breach of tenancy. We obtained an outright possession order for the landlord and moved towards providing the long-suffering neighbours with peace in their homes. Other highlights since the last Brief include delivering a webinar with Mark Foxcroft on the Housing Ombudsman’s Insight Report into Service Charges, and welcoming Zena Kanaan into the team."
Ben Tarbard
"I am currently busy advising clients on a variety of housing related matters, this includes a dispute over the use of a right of way and the drafting of new proposed tenancies for the housing of war refugees."
Mollie Bishop
"I have been busy assisting landlords with housing conditions and possession claims. I also recently attended Court for an emergency anti-social behaviour injunction matter and attended a client’s office to participate in training on possession claims."
Thohura Kabir
"I have been working on a variety of files and in particular, rent possession claims. I have issued numerous claims over the past few weeks and have had many hearings, obtaining excellent results for our clients."
Hana Rashid
"I have been very busy dealing with rent possession claims and assisting on various other matters, including disrepair, injunctions and accelerated possession claims. As I am now a trainee Chartered Legal Executive, I have been using all of my spare time to study!"
Victoria Smith
"I have had a busy start to the year advising in respect of adverse determinations by the Housing Ombudsman. I’ve also been away from my desk, delivering training to clients and attending conferences."
Mark Foxcroft
"I have recently spent a lot of time on trains - visiting our Leeds and Birmingham offices as well providing face-to-face training to clients in Exeter. Great fun to be out and about!"
Kelly Lloyd
"The past four months at Devonshire’s have flown by! I have been getting stuck into many different areas of HMPL and enjoyed meeting my new team members. I had great fun catching up with many clients and colleagues at the SHLA conference in March, and also carrying out our HMPL Building Blocks Webinar with Sara Mondon last month. I am looking forward to what is to come at Devonshires!"
Jatinder Bhamber
"I have been busy tackling all things shared ownership including arrears proceedings, disrepair and drafting policies and procedures."
Lisa Faulkner
"I have been very busy keeping the team up to date on the fast-moving changes in the sector and delivering and organising training to keep everyone up to speed!"
Baljit Basra
"I am delighted to be celebrating my first anniversary at Devonshires!
It is great to now be working with more of our West Midlands clients, including Walsall Housing Group and acting as an advocate in local Courts again."
Zoe McLean-Wells
"I have been busy undertaking several service charge policy and Building Safety Act complaints policy reviews."
